Bonney Lake Police Department is continually seeking men and women with impeccable ethics and integrity to help continue a tradition of providing professional law enforcement services to the citizens of Bonney Lake.

Applicants must demonstrate strong values in their daily life and understand the importance of the Bonney Lake Police Department's mission: to provide quality law enforcement and preserve the peace within the framework of the Constitution and enforcement of federal, state and municipal law. The first step to becoming a Bonney Lake police officer is the written and physical ability tests.

Individuals with the highest test scores are invited to an oral board interview. The top three candidates will be invited to an interview with the Chief of Police. Successful candidates will then be subject to a comprehensive background investigation that includes a polygraph and psychological examination as well as a medical screening. 

New hires are sent to the Basic Law Enforcement Academy in Burien, Washington. This is followed by field training with experienced Bonney Lake Police Officers. Upon successful completion, officers are assigned to patrol.
