Notice: BONNEY LAKE COURT HAS MOVED

(Directions)
As of Monday, June 6, 2011, all Court Hearings
will be held at the Justice Center.

Court Payments may be made in person at the Justice Center at the Court counter on the first floor. Payments by check/money order only may be left at the drop boxes located outside the Justice Center and City Hall buildings.
Passports are processed at the Justice Center from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
The Domestic Violence Kiosk has also moved to the Justice Center.
Contact the Court (253-862-6606) with questions.

Criminal Citations

If you receive a Criminal Citation (either a golden rod half sheet or a white full sheet e-ticket) from a Bonney Lake police officer or in the mail, your appearance in court is
mandatory. You have been charged with a crime. Failure to appear will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. A $100.00 warrant fee may be applied.

Look for an appearance (arraignment) date in the mid-lower left-hand portion of the citation or e-ticket. If no date is written on the citation, the court will summon you in 2-3 weeks. The summons will be mailed to the address on the face of the citation. It is your responsibility to contact the court if the address is incorrect or the summons is not received within 2-3 weeks.

Traffic Infractions (Non-Criminal)

If you receive a Traffic Infraction ticket (either a green half sheet or a white full sheet e-ticket), please read the back of the ticket for instructions. You must respond within 15 days of the date of the citation by either requesting a hearing, setting up a time payment agreement, or paying the fine in full. After 15 days, a $52.00 penalty for failure to respond will be added. Unpaid balances will be sent to a collection agency and may result in the suspension of your driver's license.

Parking Tickets and Photo Infraction Tickets

You must respond to a parking ticket or a photo infraction ticket within 15 days of the date of issue or from the date you received the infraction in the mail by either requesting a hearing or by paying the fine in full. After the 15 days, the unpaid balance will be sent to a collection agency and a $25.00 penalty will be imposed for no response or failure to appear at a requested hearing. You will be unable to renew your vehicle license tabs until all fines are paid in full.
