General Information:
The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for providing long-range planning services, environmental and land use regulations, building services, construction inspections, building permit issuance, administration and code enforcement.
Mission Statement:
¤ To develop long-range plans and regulations to govern land use and development, in compliance with the Growth Management Act;
¤ To wisely manage private land development while protecting Bonney Lake's people, environment, and economy;
¤ To efficiently administer and enforce building codes, zoning, and other regulations while providing good customer service;
¤ To help citizens and leaders establish a shared vision for the community.

Department Functions:
¤ Maintains a Comprehensive Plan consisting of goals, policies, and maps for the City's physical development and environmental protection;
¤ Works with the Planning Commission, City Council, and Mayor to adopt regulations governing land use and development;
¤ Works with elected officials, Design Commission, Hearing Examiner, applicants, and citizens to ensure that proposed land developments meet City standards, including those pertaining to wetlands, streams, shorelines, steep slopes, etc.;
¤ Issues building permits in accordance with pertinent codes; and
¤ Operates a Permit Center where developers, home-improvers, and concerned citizens can get permits and information.
