Description of Park Board Responsibilities The Park Board is comprised of seven members appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The Board was reorganized by Ordinance 1009 of the City Council in November 2004. They are charged to study and recommend park policies and rules, assist in the development of the parks element of the Comprehensive Plan and make other recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding related systems such as trails. They are to make recommendations from time to time concerning the acquisition, improvement and use of parks, playgrounds and recreational equipment and facilities, including rules and regulations.
