City Council Open House Events
Hang out with your neighbors, meet your Councilmember and say 'hi' to the Mayor at your Ward's Open House. At-Large Councilmembers and Mayor Neil Johnson plan to be present at each of these informal events. If you are not sure which Ward you live in, click on the Ward links below for information and ward maps. (Previously called 'Town Hall Meetings'.)
And be sure to check out the 'Touch a Truck' events, which are scheduled during each Open House (see below).

Touch a Truck
Touch a Truck will put your imagination in gear and go! Here's a chance for children to get up close and personal and "touch" their favorite big truck! On display will be an assortment of City vehicles ranging from dump trucks, police cars, and construction rigs. Children can look, explore and possibly climb on and sit inside the trucks they see every day on the road.

Tunes @ Tapps
Come hang out at the shore of Lake Tapps for an evening of Tunes. Local bands will be performing with a break for Bonney Lake Stars on Stage! Listen closely as the audience gets to vote for which Star will get to advance to the finals on August 29th.

Bonney Lake Stars on Stage
(Formally known as 'Bonney Lake Idol')
The Bonney Lake Stars on Stage competition will be held during the Tunes @ Tapps in July and August (see the Tunes @ Tapps schedule).

Entertainment starts at 7:00 pm at Allan Yorke Park on the South end of Lake Tapps. Contestants will perform during the set-break at approximately 7:45 pm.

Missoula Children’s Theater - Little Red Riding Hood
The Missoula Children’s Theater provides a week-long residency “starring” 50-60 of our local students in a full-scale musical. MCT has been touring now for more than 30 years, visiting nearly 1,100 communities annually in all 50 states, 4 Canadian Provinces and overseas. Their mission is the development of lifeskills in children through participation in the performing arts.

Wooden O – A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Wooden O Theatre Productions is a classical repertory theatre company dedicated to making the plays of William Shakespeare and other classical playwrights accessible and entertaining to contemporary audiences. In 2008, Wooden O will perform Shakespeare’s romantic comedy, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream."

Bonney Lake National Night Out is August 3, 2008. You can meet K-9 officer 'Gunner', check out the new SWAT vehicle, play in the softball game, and help make this crime and drug prevention event a success. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the National Night Out program nation-wide, and is the 9th annual event in Bonney Lake.

Bonney Lake Days
Celebrate summer on the shore of Lake Tapps on Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17, 2008! Entertainment, food, arts & crafts, booths, fun run, car show, kids’ zone and a parade all abound at the festival. Saturday starts off with the Fleet Feet Fun Run at 9:30 am, followed by the Bonney Lake Days Parade on West Tapps Highway. Festivities in the park on Saturday begin at 10:00 am and run until 10:00 pm. Sunday’s festivities will be between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Bark in the Park
The first annual 'Bark in the Park' event will be held on August 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Allan Yorke Park.
Bark in the Park is a FREE event. This annnual event is sure to be a favorite of dogs and their owners. The festival will feature exhibits, dog products, adoptable dogs, and prize drawings. Great dogs to see and greet, so bring yours (on a leash, please)! Join the contests such as:

Beautify Bonney Lake
The mission of Beautify Bonney Lake (BBL) is “To enhance the beauty of the city, by providing a vehicle to easily capture the goodwill of the citizens via their willingness to create permanent and positive improvements to the city.”
