Alarm Permits are required for any burglary, robbery, fire, or sprinkler alarm system installed to alert the Police and/or Fire Department to emergencies.

Animal Licenses
All animals over 2 months old must have a pet license via Metro Animal Services. Animals up to six months old are considered 'juvenile.' Animals 6 months or older must be licensed as adult animals. Fees for animal licenses are:

Juvenile Dog - $3.00
Juvenile Cat - $3.00
Altered Adult Dog - $10.00
Altered Adult Cat - $10.00
Unaltered Adult Dog - $50.00
Unaltered Adult Cat - $50.00
Animal Licenses for cats and dogs of City residents can be purchased by mailing the animal license application and fee to Metro Animal Services, or in person at the Bonney Lake City Hall (at the Utility Counter). The Animal License Application form is available to download at the Metro Animal Services web site: www.metroanimalservices.org or from the Cities Forms page.
The City of Bonney Lake contracts with Metro Animal Services and does not maintain records of prior licenses; records are maintained by Metro Animal Services. If your animal has been altered (i.e., spayed or neutered), please bring proof of alteration when paying in person so we may give you the discounted fee. Animals may not run at large and must be leashed in public. See Bonney Lake Municipal Code Chapter 6.04 (Animal Regulations & Licensing) and Chapter 12.12.130 (Parks, Animals at Large) for complete regulations. Excessive repetitive barking which unreasonably disturbs the peace is prohibited by Bonney Lake Municipal Code Chapter 9.44.010 (Public Disturbance Noises).
Boat Launch Permit
Boat Launch pass cards for the Allan Yorke Park boat launch are available to residents living inside City limits only. Pass cards are purchased at the City’s Utilities Desk located at City Hall, 19306 Bonney Lake Blvd. For more information please click here.

Lake Bonney does not require a boat launch permit, but does prohibit internal combustion engines. For more information please see our Boating page. Private launches require permission from the Homeowner’s Association in charge of those launches. Go to ourNeighborhood Associations (HOA) Page to find contact information for your Homeowner’s Association.
Concealed Weapons Permit
Concealed Weapons Permits are issued for residents who leave in City Limits only. The cost for a new permit is $60 and for a renewal it is $32. Each permit is valid for five years. To Apply please visit the Police Department at the Public Safety Building (18421 Sumner-Buckley Hwy E).
To apply you must provide ID and fill out a small application. The Police Department will fingerprint new applicants and conduct an extensive background check. Assuming approval you may return and sign for the permit about 30 days later. For questions please contact our Police Records Clerks.
Retail Fireworks License
A license to sell fireworks is mandatory in the City of Bonney Lake. The fee is $10.00 and the license is in effect only from noon on June 28th to noon on July 6th. Only fireworks stands may sell fireworks and those deemed dangerous by State Fire Marshall as per the provisions of Chapter 70.77 RCW shall be prohibited in the City entirely.
The following are required to obtain a fireworks license. Send them to the attention of our Permit Technician:
1)Application form obtained from the State of Washington (by May each year)
2)Copy of their current Bonney Lake Business License
3)Payment in the amount of $10.00 fee and $50.00 refundable cleaning deposit
4)Copy of Certificate of Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00
5)Copy of the Washington State Patrol, Fire Protection Bureau firework stand license, signed by the State Fire Marshal
6)Lease Agreement (for the site in which the stand/display will be placed)
7)Site plan for the site in which the stand/display will be placed

Regulations Regarding Discharging Fireworks
View BLMC Chapter 5.14.110. This chapter states that it is "unlawful for a person to ignite, discharge, use or explode any consumer fireworks except between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on July 3rd and on July 5th; between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight on July 4th; and between 6:00 p.m. on December 31st and 1:00 a.m. on January 1st."
The code also states that it is "unlawful for any person to discharge fireworks on the property of another without permission of the owner of such property. It is unlawful for any person to discharge fireworks in a public park unless a written permit has been obtained from the city. It is unlawful for any person to discharge fireworks on city property that is not a park without the express written permission of the city."
Sign Permit
The City requires sign permits per
BLMC 15.28 primarily to regulate signs of a commercial nature intended to be viewed from any vehicular public right-of-way. Not all signs require permits. For example, garage sale signs and small political signs during election periods. For explicit requirements see

Special Events or Parade Permit
Any person desiring to conduct or sponsor a parade, athletic event or other special event in the City of Bonney Lake which will necessitate the use of a park, public right-of-way or street shall first obtain a special event permit from the City. Additionally, insurance and a $500 damage deposit shall be required. Complete regulations are found in BLMC Chapter 5.15.
